Every Parent's Nightmare

Well, it's happened. One of my nightmares has come true.

Friday night, my son was brought home in a police car.

The twist on it is that is was the 3 year old. I was in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner and I heard the front screen door click. I dropped the silverware and ran towards th front door.

I saw no one in the front yard. I ran back in and called for Alec. No answer. Ashton helped me look. So we are running up and down the street calling him. The neighbor behind me was coming home and saw me. He rolled down his window and asked "the little one again?" I shook my head yes and he drove on down the alley and circled the block looking for him. No Alec.

I went to the neighbor's house he was at Wednesday night and banged on the door, nothing. I continued walking around the neighborhood calling for him. Then I called AJ for him to check the back of his truck for Alec and to come home and help.

30 more minutes passed and no Alec. AJ had just pulled up as I was dialing 911 and I saw a police car coming up the street. He slowed down as he got to us and asked me if I had lost something. I told him yes my 3 year old son in a Yoda short set. As I looked in the back of his car. There was Alec. I could hardly breathe.

The police officer said that he found him two blocks over and one block up. He was bare footed and had cut his foot on something and the office had put a band-aid on it. He had also given Alec one of those Jr. Police Officer badge stickers. Alec told him thank you and ran to me. I hugged him so tight he told me to stop I was hurting him.

The officer said that a lady walking had found him wondering around and took him to a house that had children playing outside and then they called 911. He also told me to call 911 with in 10 minutes of noticing your child is missing.

I am so thankful that he is okay. The big guy upstairs is really watching out for us, and we are very grateful.

My Achin' Head

My three year old is going to be the death of me!!!!!!

It started Monday morning at 6 am, he flushed about 8 paper dixie cups down the toilet. That was a major clog that took me about 4 hours to get out.

Then Tuesday morning, he took a whole roll of toilet paper (even the cardboard middle) put it in the toilet, still rolled, and flushed. Well it didn't go down....soooooo, he got the toilet bowl brush and started trying to push it down with that. I got lucky that I happened to walk by before he did too much damage.

Then, Wednesday night, I was on the roof fixing the air conditioner and Alec (3) and Ashton (7) were in the back yard playing. Alec said he was going to go get more Jell-O and I said okay. Well he didn't come out in about 10 minutes so I asked Ashton to go check on him. Ashton went in and couldn't find Alec. Since I was on the roof, I called for him and looked in the yard and stuff from above. No Alec. I asked Ashton to go ask the neighbors if they have seen him while I delt with getting down the ladder. No Alec. The lady next door came out to help me look. We are yelling and walking. No Alec. So I get in my car and drive about 4 blocks in each direction. No Alec. It's now been about 45 mintues. I panic and call 911. Do the report thing and they said they would dispatch an officer. I hang up and try to call my parents, they aren't at home. So I keep walking around the neighborhood knocking on all the doors. No Alec. As I am walking back to my house, I see the police K-9 officer drive up. I get just past my other neighbors house to talk to him and suddenly Ashton screams, "THERE HE IS!!!" Alec is walking out of the neighbor's house, who is not home, with a blue sucker in his mouth.

AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

He has been over there before when the man and his wife were home. I am guessing that he tried the front door and they didn't have it locked and just went in. He knew where the candy dish was and helped himself. I didn't go in their house to see what damage was done, so now I have to call him and confess my son's actions.

(deep sigh)

I need more Advil!!!!!

Drama Update

Ex2 is in prison has been there for about a week. When they first sent him I wrote him a letter about Ashton trying to run away and the snake and stuff. I have not received a reply. I said some things in the letter that I had needed to say for a long time and I think it helped in closing that chapter in my life and allowing me to get on with my life without having "unfinished business" between us.

I asked Ashton if he wanted to write his dad a letter and he said "No". I didn't push it and I told him that if he wanted too, just let me know and I will address the envelope for you. He hasn't brought it up again.

EX2's wife called and wanted to come over and see the boys, I told her no and she got rather huffy and hung up on me. I don't see why she should see my boys if she isn't even allowed to see her own kids.

Sydney is getting big and spoiled. She seems very happy!!!!

AJ is doing better in school, after I grounded him for 3 weeks until he got all of his missing assignments in. I have pulled in the reins on him a bit, I think he actually likes it.

Ashton has started Karate and he loves it. His PaPa takes him every Monday and Wednesday just like he did AJ. His whole attitude has improved from this and from the snake. I think my little boy is finally on the mend.

Alec is as wild as ever and loves the new doggie door for Sydney, it is now the "Alec Door". He is doing well in pre-school/daycare and his late nights are few and far between. He is now asleep by 10 pm.

As for me...hhmmm. I have calmed down on whatever I was freaked out about and I am taking life one day at a time. I am coming to the conclusion that I don't have time or the desire to date. (Do you know how many extremely weird people are out there???) I do have a special friend on line that keeps me smiling and that is enough for me right now.

7 year old Complications

On Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 6:35 am my 7 year old decided to run away.

Sydney, the new puppy, was whining at the door and I was in the bathroom getting ready for work. So I called for Ashton to let her out. I got no answer, so I looked in his room--no Ashton. I looked in my room--no Ashton. I looked in the kitchen--no Ashton. I headed for the back door where the puppy was whining and I see Ashton on his bike, with his backpack and heading down the drive way. I open the door and shout...

"Hey, where are you going?" He just put his head down and turned around and parked his bike. I got him inside and asked him what he was doing. He said he was running away. I asked why and he said cause he never gets to have any fun and he was going to have fun. Oh My Gosh!!!!

Luckily it was his counseling appointment that night and she got to talk to him about it. He said that there were too many rules and he never gets to have fun at home. When she told me this it broke my heart. Then he asked to get a pet rubber snake. We made a deal that he could get one but he couldn't tease or scare anyone with it. He agreed. For 3 days we searched the town, NO RUBBER SNAKES!!! I couldn't believe it.

Well, we went to Petco Saturday night to get puppy food .....and he saw a Petco employee handling the snakes and explaining them to a lady. And Ashton was amazed. And yes...you guessed it....We now have a snake. A baby Albino Corn Snake.

Monday morning, Ashton woke up in a wonderful mood like he used too. He ate breakfast, combed his hair and brushed his teeth with no nagging. It was amazing...

Men....go figure
