Christian Kindness and Hospitality???

Okay....I went to church this weekend.

The person that told me that my religious research and blogging was immoral and inappropriate was in my Sunday school class. So, I tried to play nice with the other kids and I stopped.

So, Sunday he was there as arrogant as usual and he decided he needed to lead the class because he had some issues he needed to address. Over half of the room rolled their eyes, but they humored him. Mainly because if you don't he will just take over the class anyway.

Oh...Hi Kendall!!!! Yes, it's all about you!!!!

So first off he had to point out that I was looking at other religions. A few people were impressed the rest could pretty much careless. Then he started in on the bashing session he is so well known for. You know the kind...How great and righteous he is and how the rest of the world is going to burn in hell.....

About 1/4 thru his speech, he said that it is not healthy for children to grow up with just one parent and he glared at me. Well, that pretty much lit the fuse on my tampon. I stood up and asked him if it was healthy for children to be around meth addicts and people who are always trying to kill them selves in front of their children. If it was healthy for the children to watch their mother take all kinds of abuse just so the father will not apply it to the children. He just looked at me with a "sit down and shut up look". I gathered up my stuff and left the room. Our normal teacher followed me and tried to get me to come back in. I told him no, and this attitude is exactly why I am looking at other religions.

He looked at me and shook his head and said "I know, I know but Kendall gives a lot to the church and in return we just have to listen to him."

So I went down stairs and got Alec out of the 3 year old class and we played on the play ground until Ashton got out of his class. Ashton has grown up in this church and he is pretty much the reason why I have stayed there. But he hasn't been real happy with his class either, they don't teach anymore....they just let them play games for the hour.

We wonder at times why our society is the way it is, I am really seeing why.

I am a Christian and I can't stand judgemental Christians. I mean, who is our model? Would J.C. have pointed at single mothers and told them they weren't good enough? I don't think so! Thanks for stopping by.

People like that were precisely why I left organized religion altogether. I started searching, too, and have found no reason to belong to "places of worship" that have people like that in them. And when they bow down to those people - well that just makes it all the more undesirable.

You go girl! And why should they humor this "Kendell" just because he "give a lot to the church!" If he is openly offending other members, they need to put a stop to it.

Please keep going with your religious blogging. I think it's really interesting! When I come to "farm town" again, you can go to church with me and see how you like it.
